Tamil Movie Madharai, in which Shivkarthikeyan released the theaters in the lead role, in theaters on 5 September. Directed by AR Murugados, the film hit screen not only in Tamil but also in Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. The film has made a big support between Murugados and music director Anirudh Ravichandar after successful work in Kathahi.
Initial Twitter review on Madharsi
Within a few hours of release, initial reactions to Madhrasi began to pour on the X (East Twitter). Some viewers praised the first half of the film, called it “explosive”. A user wrote, “The first half is explosive, Murugdos is back in form.” However, not all reactions were positive. Another viewer criticized the performance, saying he had “acting”.
This mixed reaction suggests that others were not completely satisfied when the film has managed to influence a part of the audience. Nevertheless, the discussion around the film is growing with Shivrathekian fans celebrating its new release on social media.
What is Madharasi about?
Madharsi revolves around an aggressive gun-trafficking syndicate that is flooding Tamil Nadu with illegal weapons. A prescribed police officer begins a tireless hunting to stop them. In the middle of it, an ordinary man reluctantly pulled into the underworld when his lover is used as pieces. However, this man hides a secret, a fragmented mind that reveals a violent side when pushed to the limit.
The story promises a mixture of action, suspense and emotional drama, which is true for AR Murugados’ style of storytelling.

Is Madharasi standing outside here
The film stars Sivakartheikeyan and Rukmini Vasanth in the lead roles. Vidyam Jammwal played the role of the villain, who reunite with AR Murugados after his role in Thuppaki. Supporters include Biju Menon, Monisha Vijay, Vikrant, Shabir Kallarakkal, Prem Kumar, Thhalivasal Vijay and Rishi Rithvik.
On the technical front, the music of Anirudh Ravichender is a major attraction. Editing A. Srikar is controlled by Prasad, and cinematography is performed by Sudeep Elaman. Fans have praised the background score, saying that it combines the stress of the film.
With the increasing popularity of Shivkarthikeyan after 2023 hit Amarran, expectations for Madharsi were high. While the review is mixed, the film is quite positively opened and is expected to perform well at the box office, especially with the release in many languages.
