Madanta Q2 Results: Company’s net profit up 4.5% to Rs. 130.8 crores

Global Health (Medanta) reported 4.5% year-on-year (YoY) net profit at Rs. 130.8 crore in Q2 of FY25 due to increased revenue growth from mature and new hospitals, higher patient volume. In the corresponding quarter of the previous year, the company’s net profit was Rs. 125.2 crores. Net profit rose 23.1% on a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis. Revenue grew by 12.7% YoY to Rs. 975 crore has been done.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose 5.5% YoY to Rs. 247 crore has been done. EBITDA margin stood at 25.3% in Q2 of FY25. The net cash surplus of the company was Rs. 719 crore at the end of September 30, 2024.

During the quarter, 52 beds were added at Lucknow and 66 beds at Patna resulting in a total addition of 118 beds in Q2 FY25.

  • Average occupied bed days increased by 9.1%, with occupancy of 64.3% on increased bed capacity.
  • The number of patients increased by 8.8% annually; The number of outpatients increased by 6.6% year-on-year.
  • Average revenue per occupied bed (ARPOB) rose modestly by 1.9% to Rs. 62,140 in Q2 of FY25 due to a combination of tariff increase in mature facility and change in case mix across the group.
  • Revenue of mature hospitals Rs. 688.2 crore, with growth of 13.5% and 7.8% YoY. EBITDA for mature hospitals Rs. 174 crore, a growth of 12.5% ​​and 9.4% YoY
  • The revenue of developing hospitals is Rs. 275.4 crore, a growth of 4.2% and 16.2% year-on-year. During the second quarter, the revenue from international patients was Rs. 51.3 crores.
  • Average occupied bed days increased by 9% YoY, indicating an occupancy of 59% in Q4FY24.
  • Average Revenue Per Occupied Bed (ARPOB) increased by 4% YoY to Rs. 63,063 has been done.
  • Inpatient volume increased by 10% and outpatient volume by 11% annually.

Madanta has a net cash surplus of Rs. 772 crore by March 31, 2024.
