Antonia Gentry teased that the third season of Netflix’s much-loved series is getting closer to its premiere. Tudum revealed that the third season of the hit series has wrapped filming and will begin post-production ahead of its release. “It’s always bittersweet to end a season,” Gentry, who plays Ginny, told the outlet.
Although they are still in the post-production stage, she claims that the third season will result in a good one because of its exceptional script and storyline. She said, “I just want to see what we have managed to create this season and see if people like it or not.” The actress, who is also known for her role in the 2018 film Candy Jar, revealed what the cast and crew are doing while waiting for the release of the new season.
“It’s so close, but there are so many exciting things to do. We’re trying to take a lot of pictures,” she said. Gentry feels “in her heart” that the third season will be just as good as the first two because “everyone has worked so hard, and the scripts are great, and we’re just so proud.”
The production introduced Ty Doran and Noah LaManna as new cast members to the show to play Wolfe and Tris, respectively. Wolfe is a quiet boy in Ginny’s poetry class “who doesn’t particularly like poems.” While Tris is a friend of Marcus and Silver – a group of supersmart skateboarders and peer tutors.
The second season ended with a bang, with Georgia (played by Brianne Howey) being arrested for the murder of her mother Cynthia’s (Sabrina Grdevich) husband. This shocking twist threw Georgia, her mother and Ginny’s lives into turmoil. However, show creator Sarah Lampert says this decision in Georgia’s life was inevitable.
“Georgia had to kill someone, and she had to kill someone in Wellsbury, Massachusetts,” he told Tudum. However, Howey joked that her character’s relationship with her mother would be difficult in the next season.
“It’s not over until it’s over. We can’t wrap it up in a pretty bow,” he explained. Lampert then joked that the upcoming season will feature “new obstacles, new relationships and new challenges (for Ginny and Georgia) in a way we’ve never seen before on the show.”
The premiere date for Ginny & Georgia Season 3 has not yet been announced. In the meantime, you can watch Seasons 1 and 2, which are available to stream on Netflix.
