Celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar has shared three practical tips on Instagram to help you lose weight while maintaining your glow.

Here are 3 easy ways to lose weight without losing your glow:

1. Lose weight in a sustainable way

We all want quick results when we’re trying to lose weight, but Rujuta’s advice is to think long term. She recommends a sustainable approach, even if it’s slow. Ignore those catchy “transformation” videos that promise to lose 10 pounds in 20 days. Instead, aim to lose only 5-10% of your body fat in a year. This method is healthy and helps you lose weight without reducing your natural glow.

2. Create a sustainable exercise routine

Exercise plays a big role in weight loss, but overdoing it is not a solution. If you’re just starting out, keep it simple and set small, realistic goals. Instead of pressuring yourself every day, Rujuta suggests starting with a routine of exercising 7 days a month. This way, you will give your body enough rest to recover. Once you feel comfortable, increase it to 20 days a month. When your body gets the rest it needs, your skin’s natural glow will shine through.

3. Stick to a balanced diet

A common mistake in the weight loss journey is to eliminate carbs and sugar completely. Although these are not the most nutritious choices, it is still okay to eat them in moderation. According to Rujuta, the bigger issue is relying on outside food, packaged snacks and eating out frequently. Instead of going to extremes, focus on home-cooked meals and make sure your diet includes a little bit of everything. This way, you will achieve your weight goal without compromising your glow.
