Lenovo is launching several new Legion-branded gaming devices – handheld consoles, laptops, desktops, monitors, and even a tablet. The successor to the Legion Tab boosts performance, improves cooling and is coming later this month.
The big upgrade on the Lenovo Legion Tab (2025) is the switch to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset – it’s not the latest, but it will bring a massive performance boost compared to the previous slate’s 8+ Gen 1.
Also keep in mind that this is a $500 tablet. At this price you are getting 12GB LPDDR5X RAM (8,533MHz) and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage. To improve cooling, Lenovo has made the Coldfront vapor chamber 14% larger.

Another upgrade is the screen – it’s still an 8.8” LCD with a 2,560 x 1,600px resolution (16:10), but its refresh rate now goes up to 165Hz (up from 144Hz). It’s bright at 500 nits normally and up to 900 nits in high brightness mode. The display has 98% DCI-P3 coverage and supports HDR10.
The new chipset brings additional excitement as well as new connectivity. Wi-Fi 7 (including the 6GHz band) is now supported for low-latency connections, as is Bluetooth 5.4.
As before, the tablet has two USB-C ports – one on the bottom and one on the side – with passthrough charging. This extends the life of the 6,550mAh battery and reduces heat if you use an external power source. Note that only one port is wired for fast data (10Gbps), the other being USB 2.0.

The Lenovo Legion Tab (2025) comes with Android 14 out of the box with Legion Spaces and Game Assistant, which will help you balance performance and battery life as well as toggle various game-related features. Lenovo is promising three OS updates.
The tablet has a metal chassis (available only in Eclipse Black) that weighs the same 350 g/0.77 lb as the previous model, but is slightly thicker at 7.8 mm/0.31″ (up from 7.6 mm/0.30″).
For audio, there is a pair of 2712 Superlinear speakers with Dolby Atmos support and two microphones. On the back is a 13MP camera (and a 2MP macro module), on the front is an 8MP camera.
