Lee Cronin’s The Mummy was a box office hit in India, earning Rs. 11 crores in four days, possible hit

Hollywood film The Mummy (released under the title Lee Cronin’s The Mummy) has emerged as a surprise performer at the Indian box office. The film has earned around Rs 5 crore. Nearly Rs 11 crore was earned in the first four days and the trend has been exceptionally strong. On Monday it collected Rs. About 1.80 crores, which was barely 10 percent less than its opening day.

The film is highly popular in South India, which contributes more than half of its total box office. Within this, Tamil Nadu is leading the business, leading as the top circuit with almost one-fourth of the total box office coming from the state. Typically, Mumbai is the top circuit for Hollywood films, followed by Delhi-UP and Mysore, with Tamil Nadu and APTS sometimes on top, as it is here.

The film made Rs. Took the opening. Earned Rs 2 crore on Friday, and since most of the business was coming from the South, it was expected to be frontloaded, but the film first jumped by about 60 percent on Saturday, and then also earned heavily on Sunday, almost doubling its first day’s earnings. Now, with Monday on hold, the film is looking to take off. It might not look like F1 The Movie or Project Hail Mary, but with these grips, it can definitely put on a solid performance. Initially, Rs. Rs.20 crore seemed to be the likely end point, but now it is probably Rs. Can go up to. 30 crores, which would be an excellent result for such a small budget Hollywood film.

The Mummy trilogy was huge in India in the past. The 1999 film grossed approximately Rs. 20 crores, with the sequel making Rs. Rs 27 crore in 2001. 48 crores in 2008. All of these adjust to or around Rs. Rs 200 crore today. Although the film is not part of that franchise, the familiar title likely helped with early recognition. Despite this, the film could be a hit and would be the second film of the year for Hollywood in India.
