Lady Gaga first addressed the backlash against the 2019 blockbuster Oscar winning film Joker’s sequel: Foli a Dux. After his world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September last year, Joker 2 received equal mixed reviews from critics and fans.
The Gritti Courtroom thriller has 31 percent of the rotten tomato scores and was selected as one of the “worst” films at the 2025 Razi Awards. In the sequel, the Grammy-winner, who depicted the title DC villain Harley Quin, was placed in the “worst actress” category.
Talking to Elle, Gaga shared her views on criticism and replied, “People never like some things. It’s so easy.”
The pokerfes singer insisted that the actors should be prepared for the worst possible results of their films. They should continue to do what they do, even if some projects do not connect with the audience the way it was intended.
Gaga has gone from the film and already has a lot on her plate. In addition to the preparation of its next album, Mehem on 7 March, the pop star will be seen in the third and upcoming season of the hit Netflix Show on Wednesday, led by Adams Family Spin-Off Jena Ortga.
The bad romance singer admitted the outlet that when the fear of failure participates in one’s life, it becomes uncontrollable. “This is part of the destruction,” he said, referring to his much awaited upcoming album.
For Joker 2, which is currently available to stream on Amazon Prime Video, Gaga had high expectations and beliefs in the view of director Todd Philips for the film. Talking to the variety in August, he revealed that Philips added “audacity and complexity” to the story with his unique concept.
“It is a will for (tod) as a director that he would be creative instead of just telling a traditional story of love,” he said at that time.
