What is Laal Maas Biryani?

This biryani has the flavours of both Rajasthani red meat and biryani together. It is full of flavour and its aroma will force you to eat it immediately. It has spicy mutton pieces cooked in a spicy chilli paste and also a delicious curd mixture. Once the mutton is cooked, it is served with basmati rice, which makes it really delicious. Be it a lunch gathering or a dinner party, this recipe will be special on every occasion.

What to serve with Laal Maas Biryani?

To enjoy the full flavour of this biryani, consider having it with a bowl of fresh raita. You can choose any raita of your choice. Be it onion raita, cucumber raita or any other variety, all of them will go great with the biryani. Apart from raita, you can also have this biryani with mirchi ka salan or kachumber salad.

Laal Maas Biryani Recipe | How to make Laal Maas Biryani

The recipe for this Laal Maas Biryani was shared by Instagram page @recipesbypooh. Start by marinating the mutton with ginger-garlic paste and salt. Keep it aside for an hour. Next, remove the seeds of the Mathania chillies, soak them in hot water and then grind them to make a smooth paste. Add red chilli powder, garam masala, turmeric, cumin, coriander powder and salt along with curd in a bowl. Mix well and keep aside.
Now heat ghee in a pan and add whole spices to it. Fry for about a minute and add the marinated mutton pieces. Next, add the prepared Mathaniya chilli paste and chopped onions. Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 10 minutes. Add the curd mixture and mix well. Add hot water and cook until the water evaporates. Finally, add a layer of rice over the mutton and cook it for 20 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves and enjoy!
