A few hours later, Lewis Hamilton also shared private photos and videos of his time with Kim, posting a message of support that read, “Keep your people close”.

The post was criticized by some followers, who said its timing seemed insensitive following the news of MJ’s death. Kim then responded in the comments, saying the post had been scheduled a few days earlier, and later shared a separate tribute to her grandmother. Kris and other members of the Kardashian family also posted condolence messages for MJ, who was 91.
Minutes before Kris’ death was announced on Thursday, Kim posted a series of photos from a lakeside vacation with her family. The post, titled “Lake Life,” included photos of Kim with Khloe Kardashian on a boat, Kendall Jenner pouring tequila in her mouth while holding a paddleboard in the lake, Kim wakeboarding and spending time with her kids.
Many followers criticized the timing of the post, saying it seemed odd considering the deaths in Kim’s family. As the backlash mounted, Kim responded in the comments, explaining that the post was scheduled before her grandmother’s death.
“This post was made just days before we lost MJ, so its timing coincided with his passing,” he wrote. She further wrote, “I have been with my mother and grandmother this past week and my heart is completely with my family at this time. We love and miss them so deeply, and in the days to come, we will focus on celebrating their beautiful lives.”
Family Tribute for MJ
Kim later shared a tribute to her grandmother on Instagram with photos of her through the years. In that post, she called MJ “my best friend, my gossip buddy, my forever twin” and said that her grandmother had taught her the importance of family. Kim also wrote that MJ showed her what it means to be a hard-working businesswoman.
Chris announced his mother’s death on Instagram on Thursday, calling her “the heart of our family.” She said there were no words to express what her mother meant to her or the pain of losing her. Chris wrote that MJ has taught his family to love deeply, to be kind, to show up for the people they love, and to never waste a moment together.
Lewis Hamilton’s message
Hours after the family shared their tribute, Lewis Hamilton also posted a series of personal photos and videos of the time he spent with Kim during a lakeside break. Along with the images, the Formula 1 champion wrote, “Keep your people close”. His post included a clip of Kim hugging him and pulling him into the water, as well as a photo of the two walking arm in arm.
