KD song controversy: Nora Fatehi apologizes to NCW for education of orphan girls
Actress Nora Fatehi appeared before the National Commission for Women (NCW) over objection to the song Sarke Chunar from KD: The Devil. He tendered his written apology and also promised to sponsor the education of orphan girls.

Actress Nora Fatehi appeared before the National Commission for Women (NCW) in connection with the controversy over the song. Sarke Chunar From KD: Devil. The commission had summoned Fatehi in this matter. The actor submitted his written apology to the commission.
Speaking about the same, the actor said, “I have submitted my apology to the commission. My intention was not to hurt anyone. I have to be responsible as an artiste. I have decided to sponsor the education of some orphan girls.”

This appearance comes after actor Sanjay Dutt appeared before the NCW on April 27 in the same case. During the hearing, Dutt apologized to the Commission and committed to sponsor the education of 50 tribal girls as a step towards contributing to social welfare and women empowerment.
The matter is related to the objections raised on the song Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke from the movie KD: Devil. The song was criticized for allegedly having obscene lyrics and choreography and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting later said that the song had been banned, after which the matter reached Parliament. Following the protests, the makers removed the Hindi version from YouTube.
According to Dutt’s submissions made before the Commission at the hearing, he stated that he had no prior knowledge of or control over the lyrics, translation, composition or final presentation of the song, and his role was limited to performing as an actor under contractual obligations. He appeared before the commission with his legal team led by advocate Hemant Shah and said that he respects the dignity of women and social values.
As part of his response, Dutt also assured the Commission that the compliance report on education assistance will be given within three months. Through his lawyer, he further said that he will incorporate safety measures in future projects to ensure that any work associated with him does not disrespect women, children or any individual.
