Karishma sent people to Raveena’s look: Andaz sent to spy on her own for designer on style
Dear Panth Classic ‘Endes Apna Apna’ returns to theaters, which brings back memories to costume designer Ashley Rebello, which reminds us of creating a reputable look for the stars of the film. He recalled a back-to-back anecdote before the shoot of the song ‘Yeh Raat Aur Yeh Dori’.

As ‘Endez Apna Apna’ once again hits on the big screen with its much awaited re-ne-fixation, costume designer Ashley Rebello finds himself full of indifference. The man behind Raveena Tandon’s memorable look in Panth Comedy, Ashley, walks us through creative chaos, stars moments, and fashion motivations, which has made the film a scene joy – a one that leads the conversation forward after decades.
Recalling his brief for Ravena’s dress, Ashley Rebello said, “I was working with Preeti Sinha’s father Vinay Kumar Sinha. He was a curse sweet man. In those days, you had to work in the tendom with the producer, director and of course, the actor. They went. ”
The designer also shared the scenes behind a cheek, including Karisma Kapoor.
“So I did not know Karishma at that time, but of course, later, I worked with her in many films – this is a completely different story. So, she sends someone or the other to see what Ravena wore. Obviously the word is in that night that is in that night.
He said, “Then, it was common for everyone to do many films, so no one thought it would be a cult film. But it was very fun because we were all of the same age – either peers or small, so were easy and fun to work together.”
Despite the nature of the big life of the characters, Rebellow says he always put the style on the ground. When asked about inspiration, he shared, “I did not see computer-generated concepts or overlapping things. I just looked around, board- what was happening around me, fashion magazines, catalog. I had access to many international fashion resources, for which we had to wait for months. These were all fashion.
He continued, “There was a store that would receive these spring-sams books after six months, and all of us designers will line them to look out. All designers would really fight until some designers decided that we would buy each book and share between us.
A specially memorable fitting session with Raveena is still standing for her. “The main attraction of the film Nightgown was. No one wore such fancy nightgown. It had leaf embroidery and net layer, and looked like a gown. People kept asking,” Who designed it? It is beautiful. ” He was distinguished for me. ,
Asked if any look in today, Rebello is clear. “Perhaps just a jacket phase or two. But Anna Singh also did a lot for him – we all worked together. Then there seemed a lot, it is difficult to choose only one.”
So was the fashion of that film age made so distinguished and permanent? He said, “I think the style of the film was made so memorable that all the people involved were really stylish in real life and visually on the equality in the context of the style. We all brought that international sensitivity to our work. This made all the differences.”
How will he re -connect reputed characters like immortal and love for today’s audience? “I won’t change much. Loose jeans are back, sweatshirts are inside. I will only update the color palette and maybe fit the fit. I will give them the same T-shirt and jeans, and will make them cool and very much, very cool.”
