Kapoor heritage is like a two -edged sword: Zahan Kapoor
Actor Zahan Kapoor, who achieved a fan with his performance in ‘Black Warrant’, discussed the advantages and challenges of Kapoor’s legacy in India.

A film comes with its own set of expectations, benefits and challenges from being born in the dynasty. Zahan Kapoor, the latest camphor, Black Warrant’s fame to enter the industry, accepted the conspiracy around his entry into the entertainment world. Speaking during the title during his session Star Warrant: New Kapoor on Block, Conclave 2025 in New Delhi on March 8 in India today, the actor discussed the challenges, expectations and pressure to carry forward his legacy.
On the two -edged sword of heritage
Zahan Kapoor made fame with Netflix Series Black Warrant. He played the role of Sunil Kumar Gupta, a performance that stood as the main attraction of crime drama. During the session on Saturday, when Zahan was asked about handling the pressure of his legacy, he shared, “having a new camphor on the block is a common source of conspiracy for many people. It is interesting, both a profit and a disadvantage. It is one. Two -striped sword (double-edged sword).”

He said, “Pressure and hope, yet some ways have forgiveness and access. Thankfully, I am happy to say that my parents made sure that I am not taking that weight on my shoulders and taught me to be hardworking with my work. Things are in my hands and how do I show.”
On getting roles due to being a camphor
While many people believe that a famous surname guarantees an easy route for success, Shashi Kapoor’s grandson Zahan Kapoor emphasized that hard work remains the major discrimination. He said, “What can I do about it? I can only work hard, and try to make sure that my work reflects my dedication and perseverance. I want to learn and learn. It is that I was raised by my parents. I don’t take it.”
Addressing a widespread perception related to a film family, ensuring a smooth journey, the 32 -year -old denied the idea of a spontaneous growth for fame. Zahan continued, “I don’t think it was easy to have it because I do not believe that it actually does. It is subjective. I can only speak for myself. I was given some opportunities and access to myself, but not everything.”
“I wanted to find my own legs and were encouraged in different ways. I had access to the theater and I am deeply involved in the Earth theater including its functioning and development.”
Is it easy to have a camphor
Despite reaching, carving a personal path was not without its difficulties. Zahan, who credited theater for his rise in the industry, said, “It was difficult for me to navigate these expectations. I was difficult to find out what I should do. All I knew I knew that I wanted to be a part of this magical world of telling stories, I wanted to be a part of this, I am learning it. The society questions us.”
For Zahan Kapoor, the process of honoring the craft is a constant and immersive experience. “This is an immersive process, and it is not easy, but it is fun.”
Zahan Kapoor made her acting debut with the 2022 film Faraz. In the thriller series Black Warrant, he along with other people along with Rahul Bhat, Sidhant Gupta, Anurag Thakur and Paramavir Cheema. The show is currently streaming on Netflix.
