Sashwat Chatterjee, who shared screen space with Prabhas in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, spoke to IndiaToday.in about actor Arshad Warsi’s viral ‘joker’ comment about Prabhas.

Actor Arshad Warsi is facing criticism from the industry after he criticised Prabhas’ acting in Kalki 2898 AD. Warsi had said that Prabhas looked like a ‘Joker’ in the film. Now, actor Shashwat Chatterjee, who plays Commander Manas in the film, has reacted strongly to this comment and defended Prabhas.
In an exclusive conversation with IndiaToday.in, veteran actor Shashwat Chatterjee gave his opinion on the debate sparked by Arshad Warsi’s ‘joker’ comment about Prabhas in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ and said, “I don’t want to say anything about him (Arshad), it’s his opinion, not mine. The truth is that Prabhas looks like a grown man. His screen presence is extraordinary. He was the best choice for the role. He is absolutely amazing in the film.”
Apart from Saswata, actors like Nani and Sudheer Babu have also expressed their displeasure over the comment.
Directed by Nag Ashwin, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ was released in theatres in multiple languages on June 27. The film featured actors like Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan. It was a box office success and became the seventh highest-grossing Indian film of all time. Now, almost two months later, the film is set to release on Netflix.
Talking about the film’s release on OTT, Shashwat said, “I am excited to watch the film on OTT. It is great because people who couldn’t watch the film in theatres can now watch it at their own comfort and watch it again and again as per their convenience.”
Completely I share your opinion. In it something is also to me it seems it is excellent idea. I agree with you.
