Kalki 2898 AD was one such release of 2024 which opened a new horizon for Telugu films. The epic science fiction film directed by Nag Ashwin featured an ensemble cast of some of the biggest names in Indian cinema. There has been a lot of discussion about its sequel for some time now. And recently, the filmmaker showed some clarity on the matter.
According to Koimoi, Nag Ashwin, in a recent anonymous interview, told a few things about the possibility of the audience seeing the second installment of Kalki 2898AD. He told that work on the script of the sequel has been completed.
However, the shooting has not started yet, as the stars are yet to lock in big dates for the film. Thus, filming may only begin by the middle of this year, and the project will only be released by the end of 2026.
But he added that this was also a temporary schedule as almost all the actors have imminent projects, especially Prabhas, who has several films lined up.
Well, it looks like Prabhas is busy with work at the moment, as he has a lot of projects. The actor who is currently working on Hanu Raghavapudi’s Fauji also has Maruti’s The Raja Saab in his kitty.
Meanwhile, he will also be shooting for Spirit with Sandeep Reddy Vanga as well as the sequel Salaar 2 with Prashanth Neel.
Kamal Haasan, on the other hand, has Indian 3 and KH237 as well as the film Thug Life. Apart from them, Amitabh Bachchan is also busy with his busy film schedule, while Deepika Padukone is on leave after the birth of her daughter Dua.
The Nag Ashwin directorial recently premiered in Japan, doing great business at the box office.
