Responding to a question about giving up her no-kissing policy, the 51-year-old said the choice was rooted in the role she was playing.
She said, “Honestly, it was the season I was playing. It had a lot to do with the character and who she was. It wasn’t just a kiss; it was about what she thought and what she wanted and what didn’t happen for her.”
She added, “It was something that was an integral part of the entire script, so I couldn’t cut it without cutting an integral part of the entire character.”

Kajol also admitted that she was uncomfortable with the idea until she had to perform it.
She added, “I think I was uncomfortable with it. I was very uncomfortable with the idea until I was standing on the set. I liked it in theory and I wasn’t sure if I was actually going to do it or not. I really think it was just that, it was just a professional call where I felt like I could make this call today.”
Reflecting on her approach towards work, the actor said that she has always been clear about her choices. She said that when she started, she was young and spontaneous, often making decisions without thinking, even if they did not always yield good results.
