K-pop group Newzines terminates contract with ADOR after Min Hee-jin’s resignation
NewJeans has terminated its contract with agency ADOR following the resignation of CEO Min Hee-jin. This surprising development has made fans curious about the group’s future plans.
Popular K-pop girl group, NewJeans, held an emergency press conference on November 28, 2024 to announce their official departure from their agency, ADOR (a subsidiary of HYBE). The decision follows Min Hee-jin’s resignation last week and a 14-day ultimatum given by the group at the beginning of the month demanding changes from ADOR regarding significant violations of their contract and management issues.
The group cited the company’s “inability to protect members” as one of the primary reasons for terminating its contracts, effective midnight on November 29, 2024.

During the press conference, Hanni, speaking on behalf of the group, emphasized the psychological harm and inefficiencies they experienced under the agency. The group had previously provided an extensive list of demands, including an apology for managerial misconduct and resolution of unresolved disputes related to their creative works. ADOR’s response came a few hours before the press conference but the group considered it inadequate, leading to their decision to leave.
Newjins consists of 5 members – Hanni, Minji, Danielle, Herin and Hyein and debuted in 2022. They became popular with instant hits such as Attention and Hype Boy, and earned widespread praise.
Meanwhile, Min Hee-jin had revealed that she would be taking legal action against HYBE over the controversy that started in April 2024.
