During a conversation with Vicky Lalwani, Junaid revealed that familiar faces naturally attract more attention from the audience, which makes star kids a commercially safe option for filmmakers.

Speaking about how the industry works, he said, “Producers have to sell their films; so, they will hire someone they can sell to.”

According to Junaid, commercial considerations often take precedence over choosing the most suitable actor for a role. He said that many casting decisions are influenced by an actor’s visibility and market value rather than his or her talent or suitability for the character.

He also clarified that he does not see the matter as a fight between insiders and outsiders. Instead, he believes that actors should be selected because they fit the story and character, not just because they are easy to promote.

Junaid openly acknowledged the privilege that comes with his surname and did not shy away from the nepotism debate. He said, “The word ‘nepotism’ doesn’t bother me because it’s true. I get a lot of work because I’m Aamir Khan’s son.”
