Bollywood actor Sharad Kapoor has been accused of inappropriate behavior and unwanted physical contact with a woman at his residence in the western suburbs of Mumbai. Following this, a case has been registered against him, police confirmed on Saturday.

According to officials, the alleged incident took place at Kapoor’s Khar home earlier this week. The 32-year-old complainant has alleged that Kapoor invited her to his residence under the guise of discussing a film project. Upon reaching there, he allegedly asked her to enter his bedroom, behaved inappropriately and forcibly touched her.

Additionally, it is alleged that Kapoor sent a message to the woman on WhatsApp after the meeting, using objectionable language.

The woman said in her complaint that she initially connected with Kapoor on Facebook and later talked to him through video calls, the officer said.

Following the complaint, police filed a case against Kapoor under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354A (sexual harassment), and 509 (words intended to insult the modesty of a woman).
