Joe Alwyn, known for his roles in films like The Favorite and The Brutalist, recently shared an unforgettable childhood story during his appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show on Friday.
Alvin, who dated Taylor Swift from 2017 to 2023, revealed a prank he played when he was eight that took a shocking turn.
“When I was about eight years old, I thought it would be a fun idea to play pranks on the neighbors,” Alvin began. The actor shared that he and his older brother Thomas wrote ‘threatening prank’ letters and dipped them in fake blood from a toy store before delivering them to every mailbox on their block.
What started as innocent fun quickly escalated. “My parents came back from walking the dog and the phone rang,” Alvin said. A concerned neighbor had called to ask if they had received any worrying letters. At first, the brothers found the chaos amusing.
“We thought it was really funny because it worked! Success!” He accepted. However, his excitement turned to fear as he saw the situation worsening. “The street was immediately filled with tears, screaming and concern throughout the neighborhood,” he recalled.
The matter became more serious when the police were called. “I’m not joking; it’s true,” Alvin said. Authorities arrived at the scene and reportedly also informed Scotland Yard. Alvin and his brother soon confessed to their parents and the authorities. Did it.
“I don’t remember what the policeman yelled at me, but they did yell,” he shared, adding that he actually thought he might be arrested for the prank. Thankfully, the ordeal ended without any major consequences.
