Japan’s Oscar-Nammine Documentary Black Box Diary will not be released in the country
Filmmaker Shiori Eto’s Oscar-Nammine Documentary Black Box Diary has not yet been broadcast in his country, Japan. It comes after an Eto rape allegations against Noriyuki Yamaguchi, a prominent journalist.

Filmmaker Shiori Eto’s Oscar-namine documentary, Black Box Diaries, has faced a shock after being denied a release in the director’s home country, Japan. It comes after a huge controversy in which the acclaimed director accused a prominent journalist, Noriyuki Yamaguchi of rape.
The first -directed direction of Shiori detected its legal battle against Yamaguchi, a former TBS Washington Bureau, former Washington Bureau, who was accused of rape in 2015.
The documentary, based on its memoir of the same name, remembers the discovery of justice after the authorities consider the authorities insufficient as insufficient evidence for criminal allegations.
The film remains unpublished in Japan due to concerns over some recording aired without consent. However, its public interest is undisputed, and the lack of distribution of distribution iso has been facing since speaking to Ito.

According to the BBC, at the age of 28, Eto defeated his family’s wishes to remain silent about the alleged rape. When his public allegations failed to lead criminal allegations, he prosecuted a citizen against the journalist and a US dollar 30,000 losses.
The filmmaker told the BBC that he had to live his trauma again during the film making process. “It took me four years (to make a film), because emotionally, I was struggling.”
The said incident took place in 2015 when ITO Reuters was doing an internship at the news agency. He allegedly claimed that Yamaguchi invited him to discuss the job occasion. At that time, he was the Washington Bureau chief for the Tokyo broadcast system, a major Japanese media firm.
The director alleged that Yamaguchi was raped after having dinner in Tokyo, who has constantly denied the allegations.
In 400+ hours of footage edited for the documentary, CCTV footage dragged an intoxicated Eto from a taxi and was taken to a hotel.
Meanwhile, the documentary of Shiori Eto lost the Oscar to another land at the Academy Awards held on 2 March.
