Jana Nayagan Box Office Day 5: Vijay film sees 68% decline after earning Rs 200 crore
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s Jana Nayakan earned Rs 10.15 crore nett in India on its first Monday. Despite Sunday’s decline, Vijay’s last film crossed the Rs 230 crore mark worldwide in five days.

The political action drama earned an estimated Rs 10.15 crore nett (minus gross) across all languages on its fifth day in India, marking a decline of 68 per cent from Sunday, but still took its worldwide earnings to over Rs 230 crore within five days of release.

According to trade tracker SacnilkThe film’s total India net collection now stands at Rs 134.90 crore, while its India gross stands at Rs 157.74 crore. Overseas, it added Rs 4 crore on Monday, taking its international total to Rs 75.50 crore and its worldwide total to Rs 233.24 crore.
Bharat’s total collection on the fifth day stood at Rs 10.15 crore, of which the Tamil version contributed Rs 8.40 crore. The Hindi version added Rs 1.20 crore, while the Telugu version earned Rs 55 lakh. With a total collection of around Rs 134 crore in India, the film is now poised to cross the Rs 150 crore mark soon.
Released on 23 July after a delay of seven months, Jan Naygan Vijay’s huge fan following and the emotional pull of being recognized as his swansong led to a strong start as he has shifted his focus to full-time politics. Despite mixed reviews and controversy over HD leaks before release, the film continued to perform strongly overseas and crossed the Rs 200 crore mark worldwide in its opening weekend.

A film’s theatrical performance is now closely monitored on weekdays, with Monday collections often seen as a key indicator of long-term performance. Even despite the expected decline in its weekend numbers, Jan Naygan India managed to register double digit net profit on its first Monday.
Directed by H Vinoth, Jan Naygan Stars Vijay, Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamita Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani and Narayan. The film is Vijay’s 69th and final film to receive an A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and has maintained a strong box-office performance despite a weekend decline.
