Fun of music, but Airtel is not stopping there. In a surprising partnership announced a month ago, Telco has worked closely with a US-based startup, Perplexity AI that is essentially in position as Openi’s chat and Google’s clever cousin.
Through the Airtel Thanks app, users can now claim a perplexity pro subscription, which usually costs a jaw of Rs 17,000 per year. Yes, it is Pro Tier, designed for heavy duty research and professional use. Apple TV+, Netflix, Hotstar, Prime – OTT Buffet
Of course, Airtel has long dubbed in OTT bundling, but the menu is getting tasty from the quarter. Postpaid and Airtel Xstream fiber users have enjoyed the Apple TV+ access for months, and now prepaid customers are joining the party with Apple music. Meanwhile, the OTT streaming options across the Airtel recharge pack look more like a buffet at this point:
Plan of Rs 181 – Comes with 15GB of data for 30 days and Airtel reaches Sonyliv, LionsSgate Play, Hoichoi, Chaupal, Sun NXT and 20+ other platforms through the Xstream app. If you dub in regional shows or want a low-commitment streaming fix, then it is correct.

Plan of Rs 1,729 – For the purpose of movie buffers, this pack includes 2.5GB/day for 84 days for Netflix (Basic), Hotstar (Super) and Zee5 premium. Like a plan of Rs 1,199, it also throws the hello to the tunes and is one year of a full year.
Why Airtel is playing Santa Claus
So why Airtel is bathing users with digital gifts? The answer is in bundling. With the Jio aggressively pushed into materials and rivals, Vodafone is struggling to maintain the idea, Airtel’s strategy is to add value through the premium tie-up. Instead of customers who juggle many subscriptions, Airtel wants to think you: “Why don’t all this get in a recharge?”
This is a smart trick. OTT fatigue is real, the average Indian consumer now has at least three payment memberships, and there are many Jugal Family Logins. Silently cooking these services into a prepaid pack, Airtel makes itself sticky. You can switch to Netflix for a while, but will you leave your phone connection? Probably not.
So the next time you are thinking about recharging your prepaid plan, then see your Airtel Thanks app before it. Your SIM card could only be sitting for free, which you did not know you existed. And if you finally are looking for an excuse to try Apple music, or flex the AI assistant on your colleagues, Airtel has covered you.
