Why is it important to keep your digestive system healthy?
Our digestive system helps us absorb all the essential nutrients from the foods and drinks we consume. This, in turn, helps build and repair our cells, which provide us with energy to function efficiently throughout the day. If we neglect our digestive health, it will directly impact our overall health. It can not only cause stomach problems like bloating, gas, and acidity, but it can also lead to weak immunity, fatigue, and inflammation in the body.
What the expert revealed:
According to Dimple, apple cider vinegar can harm your digestive system instead of benefiting it. “ACV is twice fermented and twice as potent as alcohol,” she says. Contrary to popular belief, consuming this pungent elixir on an empty stomach can actually deplete ojas – the good fat layer of your belly. She further explains that drinking apple cider vinegar may give you instant results initially, but it can cause serious damage to your health in the long run, including skin disorders. Hence, one should be careful about how much ACV they consume and should not rely on it only for digestive health.
