Upcoming movie teaser AlphaStarring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, it has caused a stir on social media – but not just for its action-packed scenes. Soon after the teaser was released on Wednesday, many viewers started drawing comparisons between key moments of the film and Luc Besson’s 1990 French thriller. la femme nikitaWhile others pointed out the similarity with a famous dialogue American Sniper.

The teaser begins with young Alia having dinner with Bobby Deol. As he wishes her a happy 18th birthday, he gives her a card with the room number and tells her it’s time to put her years of training to use. The teaser then transitions into a collection of action sequences, revealing that Bobby’s character has spent years grooming him to be a deadly spy.

It’s the initial vibe that has inspired the comparison la femme nikita. Directed by Luc Besson, the French classic tells the story of Nikita, a troubled young woman who is secretly recruited by a government agency after she is arrested for murder. Her death is staged, and she undergoes years of rigorous training before emerging as a skilled assassin carrying out covert missions.

Audiences immediately pointed out similarities between the restaurant scenes of both films. In AlphaBobby Deol’s character takes his daughter, played by Alia Bhatt, to a fine dining restaurant on her 18th birthday, where she is assigned her first mission. Initially looking forward to the birthday celebration, she is left disappointed before eventually accepting the assignment.

The similarities soon became a topic of discussion online. A social media user shared the scene from La Fame Nikita and wrote, “BBNG notes a copied scene from the #Alpha teaser. The operative word is ‘loosely copied’. The opening scene is loosely copied from a scene from Luc Besson’s action classic La Fame Nikita.”

Another user claimed, “The opening scene is 90% copied from Luc Besson’s action classic La Dame Nikita. The plot is also similar.”

The teaser has also sparked discussion about the wolf and sheep analogy presented by Bobby Deol’s character while training Alia’s spy. Some viewers argued that this dialogue echoes a similar dialogue featured in Clint Eastwood’s 2014 war drama American SniperStarring Bradley Cooper.

A cinema lover wrote, “Alpha didn’t copy American Sniper; it took more than its inspiration from it. Perhaps YRF should look for fresh talent instead of familiar dialogue.”
