iPhone Air 2 will be launched in 2027, its price may be surprising
Apple is reportedly planning to double the iPhone Air line with the rumored iPhone Air 2. As part of the major changes, the Cupertino giant may plan to reduce the starting price of the next-generation iPhone Air from the original’s Rs 1,14,900.
The iPhone Air made its debut this year as the thinnest iPhone ever. The device caught everyone’s attention due to its 5.6mm thickness, which gives it an attractive profile. However the iPhone Air carried a premium price tag for this form factor, starting at Rs 1,19,900 in India. Now, it seems that Apple is planning to reduce the price of the next generation iPhone Air.
According to The Information, Apple is working on iPhone Air 2, which is codenamed V62. After lower-than-expected sales of the original, the Cupertino giant went back to the drawing board and postponed the release of the next iPhone Air from September next year to early 2027.

Now, reports say that Apple is planning two big changes to the Air lineup – cameras and price. The iPhone Air 2 is expected to come with a lower price than the original. The price of iPhone Air in America is $ 999 and in India is Rs 1,19,900. However, the exact price cut of the next iPhone Air device remains unclear.
iPhone Air 2 likely to get a big camera upgrade
The iPhone Air has a 48-megapixel rear camera, something Apple probably had to do to ensure a slim profile. But this would not have made photography enthusiasts happy. To deal with this potential problem, the Cupertino giant is reportedly going to include an additional camera on the iPhone Air 2. This will likely be an ultrawide lens, with Apple claiming the iPhone Air can offer a 2x telephoto mode via digital cropping.
iPhone Air 2 trial production to begin next year
After initial delays in production, test production of the redesigned iPhone Air 2 is reportedly being conducted by China’s Luxshare at its Kunshan factory, with manufacturing scheduled to resume in early March 2026. This timeline aligns with Apple’s revised release window, which aims to debut in spring 2027, as opposed to the originally planned autumn 2026 launch.
