Every year, Apple releases its latest iPhone series in September. And it is expected that the same tradition will be followed in the coming year also. The iPhone 17 series is expected to hit the market in September 2025. This is the first series whose Plus model is rumored to be replaced by an Air or Slim model. While the iPhone 17 Air is the highlight of the series, the Pro models will also bring unprecedented upgrades. Rumor has it that the entire series will sport a 120Hz screen refresh rate, which is a significant improvement over 60Hz. But what’s new with the pros? Let’s find out.

iPhone 17 Pro: What to expect?

new design: The design of iPhone 17 Pro is expected to improve. Rumor has it that the device will get rid of the titanium frame featured on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro, and the stainless steel frame found in the iPhone X through iPhone 14 Pro models. It may have an aluminum frame. Additionally, the back of the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to feature a new design combining aluminum and glass. The rear panel is also expected to get a new look. The iPhone 17 series may come with a camera bump like the Google Pixel 9. A19 Pro Chip: The iPhone 17 Pro models are expected to feature Apple’s next-generation A19 Pro chip, which is expected to be produced using TSMC’s advanced third-generation 3nm process. As always, users can look forward to incremental performance enhancements and better power efficiency compared to current iPhones. Additionally, at least one iPhone 17 model is rumored to include an Apple-designed Wi-Fi 7 chip, replacing the Broadcom chips used in previous models.

Better memory: Both the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are rumored to feature the upgraded 12GB RAM, with that expected to be exclusive to the Pro Max model initially. This enhancement is expected to increase the performance of multitasking and Apple Intelligence features. In comparison, all four iPhone 16 models come with 8GB of RAM, making the upgrade a notable improvement for the iPhone 17 Pro lineup. The additional memory should provide better performance and better support for advanced features.

Camera Enhancements: All models in the iPhone 17 lineup are expected to feature a significant upgrade with a 24-megapixel front-facing camera, which will double the resolution of the 12-megapixel camera found in the iPhone 16 series. Additionally, the iPhone 17 Pro models are rumored to include an upgraded 48-megapixel telephoto camera, which is a big improvement over the 12-megapixel telephoto camera on the iPhone 16 Pro models. These enhancements aim to provide better image quality and better photography capabilities for both the front and rear cameras.

Narrow Dynamic Island: The iPhone 17 Pro Max is rumored to have a much smaller Dynamic Island, thanks to Apple integrating Metalens into the Face ID system. This design change is expected to increase the screen-to-body ratio of the device.

Although all of the above upgrades are very exciting, you should keep in mind that these are rumored specifications and Apple has not officially unveiled these features yet. So, we advise you to take it with a pinch of salt.
