iPhone 16: Possible design changes and other upgrades in terms of specs have already been leaked multiple times. Now, details about charging have also surfaced online, leading iPhone users to expect faster charging support on the 2024 iPhones.

As we get closer to the launch of the iPhone 16 series, more details about the next-generation iPhone are surfacing online. Possible design changes and other upgrades in terms of specs have already been leaked multiple times. Now, details about charging have also surfaced online, with iPhone users expecting faster charging support on the 2024 iPhones.
A report by ITHome claims that the iPhone 16 Pro models could get a significant boost in charging speed. The Pro variants are said to support 40W wired charging and 20W wireless charging. The upgrade is aimed at “balancing and improving the issue of increased charging time due to increased battery capacity.” Although the wattage support may not be as much as flagship or mid-range Android phones, if this leak turns out to be true, it will be a relief for iPhone users.
Currently, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models offer peak charging speeds of up to 27W with a compatible USB-C power adapter. In addition, Apple’s official MagSafe charger, along with authorized third-party options, can charge these models wirelessly at speeds up to 15W. Users can charge their iPhone 15 device up to 50 percent in about 30 minutes using a 20W or higher power adapter, which is performance in line with the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 series.
The iPhone 16 series is said to have a larger battery than its previous models. Due to the increased battery capacity, the charging speed can be increased so that the charging time is better.
Leaks suggest that the iPhone 16 could feature a 3,561mAh battery, and the iPhone 16 Plus could feature a 4,006mAh battery. While details about the battery of the Pro models are still unknown, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is rumoured to include a larger 4,676mAh battery.
Additionally, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to feature Apple’s A18 SoC, while the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max could feature the more advanced A18 Pro chip. The Pro models are also rumoured to include graphene pads instead of the existing graphite pads, which is reportedly aimed at improving heat dissipation and keeping the device cool during intensive tasks.
The iPhone 16 series is likely to launch with AI features in September this year. The official launch date is yet to be revealed. You can stay connected to India Today Tech for all the details.
