Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is almost here, and this year’s event closes on 9 June and lasts until 13 June. It is one of the most important software moments of the year, where Apple sees the world for the first time on the next key update for iPhones, iPads, MACS, and more. There is already a lot of discussion from the larger day, not only about new features, but also how Apple NEETS its operating system is also a major change.
This year, its software platforms are expected to change the name of Apple with the calendar year – which means that we can go directly from iOS 18 to iOS 26. This is a big innings, and a one that will bring more stability to Apple’s platforms, especially MacoS, Watches and iPados all are currently running on different version numbers.
But the new updates are exciting as, they usually come up with a negative side – old equipment often exit. And it is fine what is likely to happen with iOS 26, iPados 26, and Macos 26. According to reports and leaks, many old iphones, iPads and MACS may lose support around this time. Wwdc 2025: what is expected
This year’s WWDC hopes that Apple has brought one of the largest software designs revamps over the years. As Mark Gurman of BloombergApple is working on a large-scale visual redigation in iOS, MACOS, iPados, Watchos, and TVOS-a project allegedly named solarium internal. The new form is asked to borrow to the designed elements from the visionos, the software that gives strength to the vision pro headset. Users can expect round icons, translucent layers and soft UI elements – a change that can be important for iOS 7 a decade ago.
With design overhaul, Apple is also focusing on improving functionality. Practical updates such as better battery health management, easy Wi-Fi sharing, and smart multitasking are expected in equipment. It is also a matter of a new desktop mode for iPhones with USB-C, which makes it possible to plug and use the device more like a traditional computer. For gamers, Apple can also introduce an integrated gaming platform that makes the game at the center, making it easier to sink progress and compete in equipment.
And while WWDC is usually focused on software, some hardware is not far from the contemplation table. We can take a quick look at the next Mac Pro, or perhaps a rumor iPhone 17 also a glimpse of the wind. But Spotlight will remain on Apple’s software direction this year – especially the change in name and the new visual language that can set tone for the company’s next decade design.
