Hosting Indian women, about 30 percent of the AirBNB hosts in the country, have earned Rs 260 crore in 2024, which shapes the future of hospitality with inclusiveness and economic opportunities.
AirbNB said in a statement that women in India earned around Rs 260 crore through the hosts, with 5-star reviews from more than 56 percent of the guests.
About 35 percent of the guest’s favorite listing in India are hosted by women, performing their excellence in hospitality, the couple.
“Our data suggests that women hosts are giving extraordinary hospitality when obtaining financial freedom, and women travelers are fast searching for the world with confidence. This International Women’s Day, we believe that we should collectively accelerate our efforts.
“Empowering women’s hosts and travelers, we are committed to creating a more equitable future for generations to come,” said in a statement by AirBNB’s country’s leading India and South East Asia Amanpreet Singh Bajaj.
Not only the hosts, but also Indian women travelers are embracing AirbnB for their innumerable experiences and plans.
According to the data, Millennial Travelers (Born around 1985–1995) are leading the charge for booking, followed by General ZS, which was born between 1997 and 2012.
Most women prefer to travel as a pair of two or more in passenger groups, usually taking trips between two to six nights, which according to AirBNB data, reflect a priority for small-to-instantaneous experiences.
In terms of destinations, domestic, Goa was the most popular among Indian women travelers in 2024, followed by Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune and Jaipur.
Varanasi saw an increase of more than 75 percent in booking compared to 2023, which made it a top trending domestic destination for women, followed by Ahmedabad and Mathura.
For international travel, London emerged as the top outbound destination for Indian women in 2024, followed by Dubai, Bangkok, Paris and Rome.
Tibilisi, the capital of Georgia, with an increase of about 145 percent in booking compared to 2023, was a top trending international destination, with an increase of about 145 percent in booking with Kuala Lumpur, Phuket, Bangkok and Sydney.
