Indian Railways launched the Swarel app: what is this, how to use and everything you have to know
Indian Railways is currently testing a new Swarlal app. This app will offer many train-related services to users, including ticket booking, PNR status, food order, and more, under an integrated platform.
Listen to the story
If you are a person who travels by train often, you can make many apps by Indian Railways for various services. However, your struggles will be decided soon and you may need to remove these apps. The Ministry of Railways has recently introduced a new super app called ‘Swaral’. This app developed by the Center for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) offers a series of services – from ticket booking to ticket booking and ordering food to check the PNR status – all under one roof.
Till now, Indian railway passengers had to download and access various apps for various purposes – such as IRCTC Rail Connect for reserved tickets, UTS mobiles for unreserved tickets, and other apps for train inquiry, parcel booking and complaint management. However, with the new Super App Swaril, Indian Railways has integrated all these services in an integrated platform. Its purpose is to help Indian Railways passengers manage all their travel questions and services through just one app with a simple interface.
Currently under beta test
Currently, the app is available for beta testers on both Android and iOS. Users may be involved in beta test, although the beta test range on Android is currently filled. However, according to the Indian Railways, the app will be available for download soon after the completion of beta test.
But how does the app work? What does it offer? And how can you use it? Let us take a detailed look at whatever you need to know about the new Swarlal app of Indian Railways.
How to use Swarel app
Currently, the Swarail app is in beta test, but it will soon be available to the public. Once it becomes public, you will be able to download it from Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store.
After downloading, you can either register as a new user or log in to your existing rail connect or UTS mobile credentials. It will also sync all your previous travel details in the app.
After some simple login stages – including the installation of a mpin and other safety options – the app will open to the homepage.
On the homepage, you will find various services in a simplified UI, including:
Reserve ticket: Like the IRCTC rail connect app, book reserved tickets easily.
Unreserved tickets: Check and book unreserved tickets.
Platform ticket: Book platform tickets while leaving your relatives or friends.
Parcels and freight transport interrogation: Inquire the parcel and freight services within the same app.
Train and PNR status inquiry: Get real-time updates on train schedule, running status and PNR information.
Food order on trains: For more comfortable travel experience, order food during your trip.
Rail Madad for Complaint Management: Register complaints through integrated rail madad platform and track the grievance redressal.
In all, by merging various services, the Swarlal app eliminates the problem of gathering many applications. Whether you need to book tickets, check the train schedule, or file complaints – everything is accessible with a dashboard.
