Nepean Member of Parliament Chandra Arya announced Thursday he will join the race to become Canada’s next Prime Minister.
In a video statement, Arya stressed that he would lead an efficient government to rebuild the nation.
“I am running to become the next Prime Minister of Canada to lead a smaller, more efficient government to rebuild our nation and ensure prosperity for future generations. I have always wanted to do what is best for Canadians. For the sake of our children and grandchildren, we must take the bold decisions that are absolutely necessary,” he said.

“If chosen as the next leader of the Liberal Party, I offer my knowledge and expertise to do so. We are facing significant structural problems not seen for generations and to solve them “Hard choices will be required. He also promised that if elected he would revive the economy.
“The working middle class is struggling today and many working families are retiring straight into poverty. We now have to make tough decisions not only to revive our economy but also to ensure a stable society. I have the power to make it With prudence and practicality as my guiding principles, I will take the big and bold decisions needed to rebuild our economy and promote prosperity for all generations.”
Arya vowed to create better economic opportunities for Canadians.

The announcement comes after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Monday that he would resign as leader of the Liberal Party and as Prime Minister as soon as a new candidate is found for the post. He said the Canadian Parliament would be adjourned or suspended until March 24.
