22-year-old Dhir Patel was caught systematically stealing thousands of dollars worth of designer clothes from the Wynwood neighborhood of Miami, Florida. After stealing the clothes, he did not run away but came back again and again and continued stealing between March 30 and last Monday. Miami Police Department investigators said Dhir Patel would go to the store to “sell items” in exchange for money. And also, he used to steal some clothes and hide them as seen in the surveillance cameras, which was tracked after the shop owner realized that some very expensive things were missing.Investigators said she stole approximately $41,550 worth of designer goods, but the owner later estimated it may have been much more.“We originally started at $41,000, because we’ve calculated it out, now it’s about $55 to $60,000,” owner Lewis Negrich later told Local 10 News. He said that Patel had also made some purchases from high-end shops and that was why his movement did not raise any concerns initially.The MPD arrest report said Patel, of Boynton Beach, “walked throughout the store selecting merchandise” during his visits, and detectives said, “CCTV footage shows the individual allegedly hiding clothing inside a bag he brought with him.”MPD officers said they arrested Patel on a charge of grand theft on Saturday when he returned to the store to sell more items. Officials said he provided a statement, which has been redacted from the publicly released report. “Just don’t steal,” Negrich said. “It’s as simple as that. It’s just like that, everything comes back to bite you.”Court records show Patel posted $5,000 bond and was released from jail.
