Patients suffering from Parkinson’s shock can provide relief as doctors have used a non-surgical method to treat the condition.

Doctors at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi successfully treated a patient, used by using a method called MRI-directed Ultrasound (MRGFUS).

According to experts, this is the first time this method has been used to treat Parkinson’s disease in North India.

Parkinson’s disease is a brain condition that affects how a person walks. This occurs when some nerve cells in the brain that produce chemicals called dopamine start breaking or die.

Dopamine helps control smooth and balanced movement, so when its level falls, a person may have trouble moving normally.

Common symptoms of the condition include shocks (shocks), especially in the hands, harsh muscles, slow movements, balance and coordination problems, and small handwriting or changes in speech.

Over time, it can also give rise to issues such as depression, sleeping troubles or memory problems.

Reema (name changed), a retired school teacher, was struggling with trembling severe hands for years. These tremors write everyday tasks such as drinking water, eating or almost impossible.

Despite going to many doctors and trying various drugs, nothing helped.

When she was advised to undergo a deep brain stimulation, a complex brain surgery, she got nervous and chose to continue to live with the problem.

This changed when he learned about a new non-invasive treatment available in Delhi. Initially considering the journey to the UK for the process, Reema was relieved to find the same technology here in India.

He was Vice President of Neurology, Dr. The MRGFUS process operated by Dusu Rohtgi began to undergo the process, and immediately see the results. His right hand stopped moving during treatment.

The next morning, she could catch a glass of water, eat a sandwich, and even write her name, simple tasks that felt like a major milestone.

MRGFUS is a modern treatment that does not require any cut or transplant. This works using focused sound waves to target the exact part of the brain.

The process is performed using an MRI, which ensures high accuracy. It is particularly useful for people with essential shocks (a common neurological disorder) and people with Parkinson’s disease where the main symptoms of shaking are.

“This is a perfectly non-invasive technique, so patients avoid the risks of open surgery and recover rapidly,” the President of Neurosurgery, Dr. Satnam Chhabra said.

The Chairman of the Management Board of the Hospital, Dr. Ajay Swarop said, “This is part of our ongoing effort to bring the latest technology for our patients. For those who do not respond to medicines, this treatment provides a new strap on life.”
