Ilaiyaraja sends legal notice to good bad ugly manufacturers, demands Rs 5 crore
Legendary music director Ilaiyaraja has issued a legal notice to the manufacturers of Ajit Kumar’s Good Bad Ugly to use converted versions of their three reputed songs without permission. He has demanded the removal of songs from Rs 5 crore in compensation and recently released action-comedy.

Music Mestro Ilayaraja once again sent a legal notice to the manufacturers of ‘Good Bad Bads’, Tamil Action-Comedy, who used converted versions of their songs ‘Ota Rubyem Tharen’, ‘Ilamai Ido Ido’ and ‘N Juja Manja Kuruvi’.
Additionally, he demanded a huge compensation of Rs 5 crore after the success of the film’s box office. It has been read in a part of the legal notice of Ilaiyaraja, “It has come in our customer’s knowledge that his original compositions/music work ‘Ota Rubyum Threen’ from ‘Ota Rubyum Tharen’ Tamil film ‘Natupura Pattu’, ‘Sakalakala Vallavan’ from ‘Sakalakala Vallavan’ and ‘Ilamai Ido Idi Id’ and ‘Our Customer and’ Office Authority in our cinematographer film ‘Ilamai Idi Id’ and ‘our cinematographers’ in the film’ Ilamai Id In your cinematograph film titled ‘Ugly’, and without the payment of royalty, which he deserves legally. “
It further reads, “Such tasks are a clear violation of unauthorized use, appropriation and copyright and moral rights of our customer. You can also note that they have never accepted any permission or consent, either express or inherent, which is to use/replace/change/change/change the form of music work used in cinematics.”
He also demanded immediate removal of the ingredient of the songs from the ‘Good Bed Ugly’, a written waiver, and “a detailed description of the revenue earned from commercial exploitation of the above works”.
This is not the first time that the music of music has sent a notice to a film on the use of his songs. Back in 2024, he demanded an amount of Rs 2 crore from the makers of the blockbuster Malayalam film ‘Manjumel Boys’ for the unauthorized use of the song ‘Kanmani Ambodu’ of ‘Guna’ in the film. The case was resolved after the manufacturer paid Rs 60 lakh.
Meanwhile, ‘Good Bad Ugly’ is running a dream at the global box office, which is more than Rs 170 crore in just five days. Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, the film emerged as the highest -grossing film this year, with the ‘Dragon’ starring Pradeep Ranganathan.
