Famous musician Ilaiyaraaja remembered his daughter Bhavatarini on her first death anniversary. He died due to liver cancer.

Legendary musician Ilaiyaraaja paid tribute to his daughter Bhavatarini on her first death anniversary. He died at the age of 47 in Sri Lanka on January 25, 2024, after being diagnosed with stage four liver cancer.
On Saturday, Ilaiyaraaja shared a photo with his late daughter and remembered her. In an emotional voiceover, the musician can be heard saying, “Today is the day our beloved Bhavatha left us all. She was the epitome of love. After her death, I understood how much she was loved.” I feel sad that I could not spend time with my children because my entire focus was on music.
He further added, “To think that my suffering has now become music and people enjoy it gives me some solace. The date of Bhavatha (a ritual performed after death) falls on his birthday, which is 12 It is February. On this occasion, we wish to organize a memorial concert. I request all the musicians to participate in this program. I pray to God that his soul rest in peace.”

National award winning playback singer Bhavatharini earned praise for her song Mayil Pola Ponnu Onnu from the Tamil film Bharathi. She is survived by her husband, father and two brothers, Karthik Raja and Yuvan Shankar Raja.
