Google has announced a free battery replacement program for select Pixel 7A devices. Under this program, the company is offering free repair for Pixel 7A units that are facing issues of battery inflammation. The extended repair program was introduced after several Pixel 7A users complained about unusual battery behavior, including visible swelling or poor battery performance. Extended repair program for Pixel 7A is available in many countries including India.

Each Pixel 7A is not eligible for this repair program. In its support page, Google makes it clear that only “some” equipment affects it called “unexpected battery inflammation”. The battery inflammation affected by the Pixel 7A devices shows visible signs, such as the device looks thicker than normal or the rear panel bulging or lifting. In addition, users can also see signs like rapid battery drain or phone such as rapid battery drain or phone for recharging or holding despite the minimum use.

Google says that before any repair on Pixel 7A, its executive in the service center will provide a cost estimate, giving users the option to move forward.

Meanwhile, Google has highlighted that even if the battery has been replaced, the repair program will not expand the original warranty of the device. Regardless of the repair made under this program, the warranty will end on the original date.

How to replace your pixel 7A battery in India?

For users in India, Google offers the option to either go to the walk-in service center or choose a mail-in repair route. The battery replacement for Pixel 7A will be free, provided that the device is confirmed to be affected by the issue of inflammation and there is no unfit losses.

In areas where repair services are not available, Google has offered alternative “appeasement options”. However, this option is not in India or the United States, as repair centers are available in both countries.

Pamphoring options offered by Google vary depending on the warranty position of the device. For out-of-off-wore pixel 7A units, eligible users will be offered $ 200 (converted into local currency) or $ 300 discount code as direct cash compensation to buy a new pixel device through Google Store.

For devices still under warranty, users can get a compensation of $ 456 (in local currency). However, these appeasement options are available only in countries where neither walk-in nor mail-in repair services are provided. Once a user selects an option, it cannot be changed later.
