Idris Elba to star in TV series adaptation of Nigerian novel Things Fall Apart
Hollywood star Idris Elba will reportedly star in the television adaptation of the classic Nigerian novel, Things Fall Apart. The show will be co-produced by A24 and Elba’s production company, 22Summers.
Hollywood star Idris Elba will soon be seen playing the lead role in the TV series adaptation of Nigerian author Chinua Achebe’s classic novel, Things Fall Apart, reports Variety.
In addition to playing the lead role, Elba will also executive-produce the show.
The show will be based on the acclaimed 1958 novel and will be co-produced by lead star Elba as well as production company A24.
Things Fall Apart is a part of the English Literature curriculum in many universities around the world, including the University of Delhi in India, and it is regularly included in lists of the top 100 novels of all time.
Things Fall Apart revolves around Okonkwo, played by Elba, a warrior who takes on the responsibility of preserving his tribe and culture after British colonialists threaten to take over things.
A writer and showrunner are yet to be announced for this.
