Rajkummar Rao has recently addressed the Credit War going on around the success of Stri 2. The Horror-Comedy, which was released in 2024, became an important hit at the box office. The film was not only laughing at the audience, but also breaking records, which used to earn Rs 857 crore worldwide.

However, the film’s huge success created a debate among fans. Some said that Rajkumar was the key to the success of the film, while others pointed to his co-stars, especially Shraddha Kapoor. In an interview with Etimes, Rajkumar opened about the issue. He said, “I think Stri worked because of me.”

He insisted that the success of the film was due to the story and the love of the audience for the first part. Rajkumar said that the film became successful due to hard work and effort of the entire team.

He accepted his contribution as an actor, especially in his role as selling, but to ensure that it was not just them. “Of course, did I contribute as an actor? Yes, I did a lot. As a selling, yes, I did a lot. But Amar did it, so Dinu (Dinesh Vijan), so all the departments included in making the film,” he explained.

Rajkumar emphasized the importance of teamwork in film production. He mentioned how actors often become the faces of the film because they appear on the poster. But in fact, filmmaking is the effort of a team, in which each department plays an important role. “Everyone works on the film. It’s a team’s effort,” he said.

While the actor understands that fan can focus on stars, he reminded them that every film is different. Not every film will get the same level of success, and not every film will have the same luck. “Every film has its own luck,” he said.

Strey 2 was a star-stamped film with Rajkumar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Ustation Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee in lead roles. The film also included Camos by Akshay Kumar and Tamannaah Bhatia, which became an attraction for many fans.

Rajkumar’s next film is a comedy-drama forgotten forgiven. Directed by Karan Sharma, it also stars Vamik Gabbi and Seema Pahwa. The film will be released in theaters on 9 May under the banner of Madock Films and Amazon MGM Studio.
