Abhishek Bachchan recently starred in the film I Want to Talk, which is about a man who doesn’t have much time left in the world. The actor recently talked about finding the ‘ray of hope’ amidst all the negativity to move forward in life. He also shared that he can’t change the person he is.
In a recent interview with ETimes, Abhishek Bachchan talked about not changing his fundamental values despite negativity. He mentioned the Hindi word ‘दिर्धता (दिर्धता)’ and said that one should adapt and grow but should not change the ‘fundamentals’.
Abhishek shared his constant belief in his mantra, “When the bad does not leave its bad, why should the good leave its good? (If the bad doesn’t stop being bad, why will the good stop being good).”
“I can’t change the person I am,” he said. Abhishek revealed that he was a very positive person in life and did not focus on negativity otherwise it could have taken over.
Abhishek Bachchan compared it to his film I Want to Talk and said that if a person sees a ‘silver lining on the cloud’, then he should hold on to it as it can become an inspiration to move forward. He commented that it is easy to be consumed by ‘darkness’ and ‘negativity’.
Abhishek also shared that he probably would have made a very emotional and sad film on this story, but his director Shoojit Sircar decided to make a happy film which will make the audience laugh. The actor said it was a lesson in, “No matter how difficult the obstacle is, finding the silver lining and the reason to say, ‘Okay, I’m going to do this.'”
Abhishek concluded by saying that one must stand up for one’s beliefs. He said that if he was going to be a ‘leaf blowing in the wind’, people would not consider him a solid person.
I Want to Talk is a biographical film directed by Shoojit Sircar and produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar. It is currently running in theatres. Abhishek Bachchan has received a lot of praise for his acting.
