The Big Bang Theory has entertained us for years, especially when it comes to the character of Jim Parsons. We are glued to the screen even after the show is over to watch Sheldon Cooper. However, the actor has a very vivid statement to give regarding his return to the screen as the famous idiot character.
Recently, while appearing on Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace on Max, the Hidden Figures actor said that he may not return for the reboot of The Big Bang Theory.
When asked if he would consider a reboot or reunion, Parsons said, “As we sit here right now, no, but I would also say I would never say anything, because life would have just changed so much. Is.”
The actor then also said that the series was so special that it is still called “lightning in a bottle for a reason”.
He then questioned that if it would not result in a reboot or reunion, why should anyone do it?
However, speaking further during the show, Parsons mentioned that these are his words right now, which may change in the future, because “life is too long.”
When asked if he feels blessed or cursed to be recognized as his character Sheldon Cooper, the actor replied, “At this point it’s almost 100% a blessing, if not completely. Not me; I know I wouldn’t have said that 10 years ago.”
The Big Bang Theory ran from 2007 to 2019, during which time the character of Sheldon Cooper became so close to viewers’ hearts that he got another shot with a spinoff series, which was actually a prequel, Young Sheldon.
Talking about the series running from 2017 to 2024, Jim Parsons told People that its finale was a perfect farewell. The role of Sheldon Copper on The Boys in the Band also earned the actor four Emmys and a Golden Globe.
Jim Parsons can now be seen on stage in The Great White Way in Our Town, a revival of Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer-Prize winning play.
The A Kid Like Jake actor stars alongside Zoey Deutch, Katie Holmes, Richard Thomas, and Billy Eugene Jones in the epic drama.
The play also stars Michelle Wilson, Efraim Sykes and Julie Halston alongside Donald Webber Jr. The Great White Way in Our Town opens on October 10, 2024. Tickets for the play are on sale.
