Justin Timberlake has pleaded guilty in his DWI case for drunk driving. On September 13, Timberlake appeared in court with his lawyer Edward Burke Jr., where the musician addressed the judge and said that he was disappointed with his act of breaking the rules and has been reflecting on his actions ever since. Apart from this, the popular personality in the industry also expressed his gratitude to the people involved in the case.
During his appearance at the Sag Harbor courthouse, the actor-singer revealed, “I have not lived up to the standard I hold myself to.” He told the court that he would “like to take a moment to express my gratitude to everyone involved.” Timberlake also mentioned that being from a small town he understands “how much of a strain this can put on his fans as well as resources.”
Following the musician’s statement in court, opposing lawyer Irese questioned him about the actor’s intent in driving. Timberlake responded, “I found myself in a situation where I should have waited a moment; I should have used better judgment. I understand and appreciate the seriousness of it.”
Meanwhile, Ieres claimed that he appreciated the singer’s honesty and believed he would not make such a mistake in the future. While the plea to send the actor to jail was rejected, Timberlake still has to pay a $500 fine and perform social services for 25 months.

After the hearing, both Burke and Timberlake released a statement detailing the case. He said, “The evidence showed that my client had consumed one drink in two hours at the American Hotel.”
“Contrary to what was reported, he was not drinking other people’s beverages or had not been previously warned not to drive. He was not rude; he was not obnoxious; he was not belligerent. In fact, he was polite, he was cooperative and he was respectful throughout his entire encounter with law enforcement,” Burke revealed in the report.
Earlier, the Trolls actor’s license was revoked for drunk driving. Meanwhile, the musician’s wife Jessica Biel has been supporting him throughout the court case.
