Actor Anupam Kher shared a video on social media on Sunday amid protests over his terming the theft of Ram Temple donations as ‘minor’ compared to the atrocities of the Mughal era. The 71-year-old said he speaks out fearlessly on certain issues because he doesn’t try to please everyone.
The video comes a day after a section of the internet criticized Anupam Kher’s comment on Ram Mandir donation theft and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav reacted to his statement on Ax.

Responding to Kher’s comments, Yadav wrote, “It is a strange argument that one should not say anything to a thief, but should lecture those caught stealing. There must be some reason for such sympathy towards thieves, or there must be some political compulsion.”

He said that keeping everyone happy is one of the most difficult tasks in life and asked who in the world was ever liked by everyone. He said that as soon as a person decides to become everyone’s favorite, people start using him as per their convenience.
Kher said that when a person starts saying what others want to hear, he can lose himself along the way. He added, “I have a philosophy in life: First of all, try to be your own favorite.”
The actor said that a person should be able to look at himself in the mirror and realize that he is a good person. If they don’t feel that way, he said, they should change themselves, not for the world’s sake, but for their own growth. He also said that neither he nor anyone else has taken the responsibility of keeping the entire world happy.

The post comes after Kher faced criticism over his remarks on theft of Ram temple donations during his Ayodhya visit. Responding to the controversy, he said that he did not consider himself so important that Yadav needed to write about him.
Kher alleged that Yadav’s team showed him only half of his statement for convenience and said that this led to this reaction. He urged Yadav to read his entire comment and said he was confident that after doing so, Samajwadi Party leaders would agree with him.

He also said that being a Sanatani, Yadav would know that such thefts cannot harm the reputation of Lord Shri Ram.

Earlier on May 29, Kher had announced his next film, which is named Shri Ram Bhoomi. The project will be directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, who recently directed kerala story 2.
Announcing the film on social media, Kher said that he feels extremely happy and proud to be a part of this project. He shared a picture from the set in which he is seen holding a clapperboard. the board held the title Ram BhoomiAnd the actor said that this film will be his 552nd project.
