avengers cast Again Gathered to support Kamala Harris in the upcoming US elections, and created a campaign in true Avengers style. In a video shared by Vanity Fair, actors Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Don Cheadle, Chris Evans, Danai Gurira and Paul Bettany modeled their MCU characters while crafting a “catchphrase” for the Democratic presidential nominee. Used references humorously.
The video begins with the mentioned cast receiving a call from Johansson. After some banter, Downey suggested they start by making a catchphrase and everyone made questionable suggestions. When Evans suggests “I could do this all day,” – referring to dialogue from his Marvel character Captain America – everyone gets annoyed.
Oppenheimer Starr jokingly yells “Shut up!” And Evans stepped back. Following him, everyone started giving suggestions according to their characters. Gurira suggested “Kamala Forever”, referencing Black Panther’s iconic line. They skeptically settled on Cheadle’s suggested slogan “Down with democracy”.
When Ruffalo quipped that it didn’t sound like what he wanted, the Black Window actress asked for input from production and then the Avengers theme tunes started playing in the background. “Will you stop playing the heroic music under you,” the Poor Things actor shouted.
He also re-shared the video on X (formally Twitter), writing, “Don’t sit this out. This is where we will accept the big defeat: Project 2025,” he wrote in the caption. Elaborating further on the project, Ruffalo mentioned women’s reproductive rights, climate change, LGBTQIA+ rights, public education, student loan relief, the Affordable Care Act, Social Security, and to date, life-saving vaccines. And he finished his statement by saying, “This shit is real and it’s coming for you.”
Harris recently completed her campaign rally in Houston, Texas, where Beyoncé appeared on stage in support of the candidate and gave a speech addressing issues that could impact future generations and calling for this much-needed change. Why is voting important?
Other celebrities such as Bruce Springsteen, Oprah, Madonna, Bad Bunny, Ricky Martin, LeBron James and former Republican Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger have publicly shown their support for Harris.
