Instant Amla Pickle Recipe | How to make Instant Amla Pickle

It is very easy to make amla pickle at home. This recipe was shared by digital creator Nitya Hegde (@finefettlecookerys) on Instagram. To make it:

1. Prepare the Amla

First of all clean the gooseberries and keep them aside. Heat a vessel. Add water and salt to it and mix well. Now add gooseberries to it and let it cool completely.

2. Make pickle powder

Take a pan and add all the spices – cumin seeds, mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, cloves, black pepper, star anise, asafoetida and nutmeg. Dry roast them till they become aromatic. Remove from the flame and let them cool completely. Then grind them finely.

3. Mix the ingredients

In a large bowl, remove the amla seeds from the gooseberries. Now add the ground spice powder and mix well. Next, slit the bird chilli and add it to the mixture. Slowly, add the salted water used to cook the gooseberries to the mixture, little by little, keep mixing so that the masala is evenly distributed. Store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator, and enjoy it!
