Hit 3 Review: Nani’s film has its moments, but it is more remembered than a hit
‘Hit: The Third Case’ is the third installment of the successful hit Universe made by director Selesh Kolonu. The film stars Telugu actor Nani and Srinidhi Shetty of KGF fame. The third part of the franchise has increased considerably and tries to get more collective appeals, but does it work?

Release date: 1 May, 2025
Telugu actor Nani is in a dream with his cinema undertakings. The ‘Hi Nanna’ actor has developed a sense of confidence among the audience about the content of his films, called ‘Natural Star’. While Nani uses her roles quite often, she has taken it on a position with ‘Hit 3’. For your innocent and endurance screen appearance, the violence in the film and the level of gore have left the grandmother’s fans with this question, “Is this too much violence necessary?”
Similarly, the ‘Hit’ franchise, which was manufactured by Nani’s Wallposter Cinema, is a success story due to its out-of-the-box discovered thriller stories, whose presentations in the ‘Whodunnit’ template were unique. But, from the promotional material, it is clear that the manufacturers are flowing in the third part to the nani’s ‘Arjun Sarkar’ on a large scale. This gave rise to another important question – is there a large scale action in a investigative thriller?
Answers to these questions can have a big impact on the line of Nani’s victory at the box office. Riding on high expectations, ‘Hit 3’ was able to live for them? Let’s know!

Arjun Sarkar (Nani), a policeman who is under trial for murder, narrated the story to another convict, why he ended in the cell. In this flashback, we see Arjun investigating a murder case in Kashmir. As the investigation is deep, the bets become more, until it reaches a point where everything becomes bloody. Who is Arjun Sarkar? What is he trying to do? Why is he in jail? How deep and mess is this case? The answers to these questions and more, make the film’s plot.
The total granny-starrer in ‘Hit: The Third Case’ has no doubt, but has worked as a two-edged sword. The granny always leaves an impact in the form of a coop. From the first frame to the end, one can see the granny’s talent in the character, hit his way through adversity, looks calm while doing so, is a vulture for a pet (type), and gives many moments to his fans. However, apart from Nani and her pet vultures, there is no other interesting character or performance.
While the headlines live on the granny the whole time, all other characters, including the opponents ‘alpha’, are played by Pretic Babbar, showing no depths, rarely leaves any interest or conspiracy in their characters. Srinidhi Shetty, who plays Mridula, is introduced as an interesting character, Arjun’s love interest, only one appears that can be seen from a mile away. After this revelation, Srinidhi’s character seems uninterrupted, as he becomes a traditional second-fedel love interest with some personal glory moments, but nothing is important.
It seems that writer-director Tilash Kolanu wrote that Nani is a hero keeping in mind the story. Unlike previous installments, ‘Hit 3’ lacks flair, as a director, in an attempt to divert Massey, the main element of what is the ‘Hit’ universe today, has reduced the main element: suspense and mystery. While living at the surface level, the Arjun Sarkar looks like a gray character, he is the traditional opponent of Indian films-a police that is ready to cross the lines for justice.
In the first two parts, the heroes were more flawed, and there were internal turmoil to deal with them, making them more interesting the conditions that they were more interesting. With ‘Hit 3’, after a point, Arjun Sarkar was more hero than a character, which was about the first two parts. The film is an action thriller, not an investigative drama.
The film can be broken into three parts: first half, post-interval story, and last half an hour (climax). The first half establishes the Arjuna government, the people with whom he is working, the matter he is working, and the level he is ready to go to see his case. A little dragged but interesting set-up.
Post-interval is an extremely in-u-face style shift that was not quite comfortable. A change in the direction of becoming an existence/genocide action piece takes its time to shape, which makes the proceedings estimate and uninterrupted. However, the film ends with a blast, with an action spectacle with many pleasant surprises with the last thirty minutes minutes. To save the best for the last, the emotions were provoked to return the bloody action in the end, of course the biggest attraction of the film.
Technical departments play a major role in making this film attractive. Despite the flaws in writing, cinematography, background score, set design and artwork have contributed significantly. By the end of the film, Arjun Sarkar was separated from people from people, they shouted to the art department for the prepared prosthetic hands, legs and fingers.
Overall, the film got stuck between two places, neither being able to explain completely as a follow-up film from the ‘Hit’ Universe nor being an out-end commercial entertainer. This limited its ability to both ends, causing the overall effect of the film to stuck in the middle on its audience. Despite the deficiencies, ‘Hit 3’ can still be considered an entertainment and a fan-press for most fans of the grandmother. Not for those who are hoping to see the grandmother in their ‘chocolate-boy’ avatar, though!
