Hina Khan bravely embraces her newly shaved head

Hina Khan has shaved her head amid her battle with breast cancer. The actress, who was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in June, is currently undergoing treatment. Sharing a video on Instagram, Hina revealed how “stressful and painful” losing her hair was for her. Hence, she took the drastic decision of chopping off all her hair. The clip begins with Hina sitting in a chair as a man shaves off her hair with a trimmer. The montage also shows clumps of hair on pillows and her clothes – a side-effect of the intensive medical treatment.

Hina Khan is a brave hearted woman, she embraced her newly shaved head gracefully. She said, “You can only win it if you embrace it, accept it, and I have chosen to accept my battle wounds because I believe if you embrace yourself, you are one step closer to your healing and I really want to heal and focus on that aspect of my life. I don’t want to go through that process where every time I put my hands in my hair, a lot of hair falls out. It’s very stressful and frustrating. I don’t want to go through that.”

“It’s time to put an end to this. This is yet another attempt to normalise the most difficult phase of the beauty journey. Remember ladies.. our strength is our patience and calmness. Nothing is impossible if we put our minds to it. Keep your mind in control,” read her inspirational caption.

Hina Khan refuses to succumb to her illness. Earlier, she had opted for a pixie haircut. She wrote in the caption, “I decided to let go of my beautiful hair before it starts falling out. I didn’t want to go through this mental breakdown for weeks. So, I decided to let go of the crown of my head because I realised that my real crown is my courage, my strength and my love for myself. I have decided to use my hair to make a nice wig for this phase.”
