Doherty rose to superstardom with her notable role as Brenda Walsh on the hit series Beverly Hills, 90210. Her former castmates on the series, including Jennie Garth, Brian Austin Green and Gabrielle Cartwright, recently shared memories of the late actress and her rich legacy and incredible work.

According to People magazine, Shannen Doherty was recently honored at 90s Con Florida by her Beverly Hills, 90210 co-stars Brian Austin Green, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering and Gabrielle Carteris. The tribute came two months after Doherty’s death on July 13 at age 53. The cast gathered on stage to remember and celebrate their late friend.
During a panel discussion at the event, Green spoke about her own cancer journey, describing it as “incredibly courageous” and “challenging”, and said Doherty was an “amazing example” of how she had put her own challenges and health issues aside to share her experience with others, which he found “incredibly courageous”.

The actress said, “It takes courage to go through such a difficult situation and be completely transparent and share it with everyone.” The Charmed actress first opened up about her breast cancer diagnosis in 2015 and continued to spread awareness and help many others before her death.
Cartwright, who played Andrea Zuckerman on the series, said her late co-star Doherty has been an inspiration in her life. “I have a friend with cancer right now and she said Shannon really inspired her,” she said.
She added, “I think his legacy is really making a difference for people who are struggling to know that there is hope.”
Meanwhile, Shannen Doherty’s mother, Rosa Doherty, recently spoke about her memories with her late daughter on her podcast Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty. She said, “I’ve said it before, the parent should never outlive the child. The child should never outlive the parent, and these are things we have no control over.”
Doherty’s mother, Rosa, said she was fortunate to have all the memories that brought her joy, but “it also makes me feel like I’m going to explode at any moment because it’s such a huge loss.”
