If there is one movie franchise that is loved by generations after generations, it is Harry Potter and if you think Hermione isn’t your favorite, you’re lying. Miss Granger is a character that has been consistent and exceptional throughout the series as she never fails to surprise.
Gryffindor’s smartest student is known not just for her intellect but also for her personality, especially when the going gets tough. Likewise, when Harry and Ron are forced to confront their inner demons in search of the Horcruxes, Hermione remains unscathed. This mystery has fascinated fans for years.
In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, Hermione, Ron, and Harry are forced to find the Horcruxes hidden in different locations. Even after dealing with Harry’s insecurities and the authenticity of their mission, the trio kept their focus. Although they were given a fake locket, they managed to find Slytherin’s real locket which turned out to be indestructible.
To keep the necklace safe, Harry suggested they take turns wearing it as they traveled further afield to find answers. But there was one big problem with the Horcrux – it fueled the wearer’s worst fears and insecurities.
Ron was the first victim as he had the least faith in Dumbledore’s mission. He became jealous of Harry and Hermione’s friendship, was insecure about his skills, and was upset about not getting food. He even leaves the group after Harry makes him feel undermined.
The locket’s second victim was Harry, who had several fits of rage due to his friends’ lack of trust in him and his actions. Surprisingly, Hermione was the only person who was either unaffected or least affected by the locket.
Although there is no clear explanation for this, it is believed that Hermione did not have the same obvious weaknesses as Harry and Ron, which made her immune to the locket’s powers. While both boys were suspicious and unprepared from the start, Hermione Granger was ready to face anything. The moment she erased her parents’ memories, she wanted to commit to the cause.
She knew that sooner or later they would be forced to make a hard choice. She was even prepared for the Death Eaters at Fleur and Bill’s wedding. Her intelligence was what always kept her one step ahead of the others and especially for this mission, her weaknesses were not retaliatory.
The simplest reason for this was Hermione’s mental strength and intelligence. She was not someone who could be easily controlled by Horcruxes. Although she was not chosen to fight Voldemort, she was definitely someone who thought of others before herself.
