In the ever-evolving world of Indian street food, vendors have become unsung innovators of bold and often bizarre culinary experiments. With an eye for the unconventional and a knack for mixing the unbearable, he created concoctions that sent shockwaves through social media. Of these, one dish has sparked heated debate and raised some eyebrows – Gulab Jamun Paratha. It’s a mash-up that combines the fried sweetness of gulab jamun with the savory flavor of paratha – the combination is as amazing as it sounds. We saw this unique dish circulating on the internet a few years ago and now it is trending again.

The dish caught people’s attention when food vlogger Gaurav Wasan posted a video on Instagram. In this, a vendor prepares Gulab Jamun Paratha, which starts with a simple dough that is rolled out and filled with two Gulab Jamuns. The vendor crushes the sweet pakodas gently, wraps them in flour before carefully rolling them into paratha shapes. The tadka is then applied on a hot pan, followed by a drizzle of sugar syrup to complete the dish.

If you think Gulab Jamun Paratha is a strange and quirky food combination, then you might not have heard of ‘Onion Coke’. A few weeks ago, food blogger Kelvin Lee shared his bold experiment with this unusual pairing on Instagram. In the video, Kelvin puts onion pieces in a glass of Coke and leaves them for a few minutes. To his surprise, he found the flavor combination enjoyable, with the onions adding a subtle kick that balanced the sweetness. Curious about the Internet’s reaction? Know here.

In the world of food, it seems there is no line between innovative and extraordinary. From the sweet and salty twists of Gulab Jamun Paratha to the pairing of Onion and Coke, there are no limits to culinary creativity. So, back to Gulab Jamun Paratha – would you dare to try it?
