Govinda’s wife Sunita says no one listens to her advice: He is stuck in the 90s
Actor Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja revealed why her son Yashvardhan Ahuja doesn’t take career advice from his father. Additionally, he shared insights on Govinda’s relationship with David Dhawan.
As Bollywood actor Govinda’s son Yashvardhan Ahuja gears up for his Bollywood debut in 2025, the question arises whether he trusts his father’s advice. Addressing this, the actor’s wife Sunita Ahuja revealed that “no one really listens to his advice”.
Sunita was recently seen on YouTube channel hindi rushDiscussing the same. She said, “No one listens to Govinda’s advice because he is stuck in the 90s. I give advice suited for 2024. We keep telling him to move beyond the 90s.”
Speaking about Govinda’s lifestyle and his famous collaboration with director David Dhawan, Suita also reflected on their differences after 18 successful films.
Sunita blames external influences, saying, “At that time, actors had a lot to do”spoons‘(sycophants) who created misunderstanding and jealousy over their partnership, leading to negativity. Being surrounded with such people only absorbs their negativity.”
He defended David Dhawan amid the controversy, saying that his advice to Govinda was practical and industry-centric. Sunita revealed, “David didn’t say anything wrong. He said solo-hero films used to work in the 90s, but not anymore. Today they are rarely successful.”
He said, “David suggested adopting the changing trend, as single-hero films of the 90s are rarely successful anymore. He also recommended second lead roles, as Govinda did in Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan. Did it successfully.”
Sunita criticized people in Govinda’s circle for misleading him with flattery and said, “They provoked him by saying, ‘You are a hero.’ “It makes me angry how these people hurt his career.”
Govinda and Sunita have been married since 1987 and have two children: their daughter, Tina Ahuja, and their son, Yashvardhan Ahuja.
